Just wanting to hear from some people out there that are towing with a Dodge Megacab and How they like it. If you could let me know what you are towing, and the size and weight that would be great. Looking at getting a TH of some type in March of 09, thanks. Like I said it's a 2008 Dodge Megacab 3500.

RE: Towing TH with Mega Cab

Thats great that you were part of the weight police and invetigation and been a cop for 30 years. If you want to talk about war stories thats fine. I have been a Firefighter for 10 years and all the car wrecks that i have been on, not one has been from a truck pulling a Rv that was over weight. All that i was asking is if people have a Mega Cab truck how they like pulling there trailer with it.

Since you have already made your decision why ask? That much trailer will likely overload your tires, axles, suspension and overwhelm the truck when towing. If you are looking for validation, you won't get it from me.
I dont need any validation from anyone, We all know people who are towing trailers, just wanted to know how people liked towing there trailer if they had a Mega Cab Period.

Towing TH with Mega Cab

The truck itself is SRW 3500 Mega Cab, I realize that i will be over weight weather its a dually or not. I guess my over all question is, If there is anyone out there that is towing with a mega cab and how well they like it or not? As far as the hitch goes i have a super glide automatic 25k. I realize that the only way to not be over the weight limit would be to have a smaller trailer or a 4500 or 5500 truck. I am not to worried about the weight issues because most people out there are over weight anyway. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Towing with Dodge Mega Cab

I have a 2008 Dodge Mega Cab 3500, I am looking at getting a Cyclone TH that is 38 feet long and approx 12000 lbs Dry. I know that i will have to use a slider hitch do to the fact that it is still considered a short bed truck. I am just wanting to know if anyone out there has any ideas good or bad about this type of set up. Thanks for the input.

Need Help Selecting TH

My wife and I have been researching TH for the past 2 years and are ready to buy one. We would really like one with a separate garage about 12'. The problem that we are finding is that we cant find one under 36-37', and has a GVW under 18000. We still need to be able to get all of our stuff loaded into it and not go over the GVW if possible. If anyone out there has any ideas I would love to hear from you.

Towing with a Shortbed Pickup.

I currently have a 2007 Dodge 2500 5.9 Cummins Diesel shortbed pickup. I am trying to find out, how many of you Rv'ers are using this type of truck for hauling your Rv's. I am trying to find out what works and doesn't work. If anyone could write in and tell me there thoughts that would be great. I would really like to know what length and weight of trailer is being towed with these types of rigs. I know what the manufactures rating of my rig is, but would like to know what people are really towing. Thanks for any help. If it helps my wife and I are looking at a toyhauler.

RE: "new Toy hauler"

kopfjaeger, yes it is a srw, and with the air bags it rides level and feels very stable. Alot of people on this forum say you should use a 450 or 550. All that a 450 will do is handle more of a GCVWR. The only thing that really will help alot with stability is a rig with duel rear wheels, But you would be surprised how much the air bags help. Alot of people on the towing forum say to always look at the towing capability set forth by the manufacture, alot of these rigs can tow well over their recommended weight. My Brother tows a 41' WW as gooseneck and has no problem aswell and he has a F-250 with airbags.

RE: "new Toy hauler"

I have a 2007 2500 dodge quad cab short bed and tow a cyclone 3795, I really think that you will be surprised with how well it does considering that the trailer usually weights around 15-16k and is 38 feet long. All I did was put airbags under the truck and i have no problem. I just added a exhauste brake and it works great.

RE: Toy Haulers and Snowmobiles

Chris, is also have been doing alot of research and I feel you pain. I have a sled and its 166 so it is very hard to decide what to go with that will be the best for snowmobile use. I really feel personally that I am going to do with one that has a garage in it. I have been looking at the cyclone model 3795 5th wheel, the other brand that I have been looking at is the Wide open by enduramax. The nice thing about them is they have drains in the floor witch would be really nice. My other concern is I don't really want to have all the 2 cycle exhaust in my living area. If you can think of any thing else that comes to mind or you find another Th let me know please.

Toy Haulers and Snowmobiles

Looking for some information on hauling or using snowmobiles with a toy hauler. I have two sleds and I am looking to use the TH during the winter. If anyone has any comments or information about this I would really like to hear about it, whether it is good or bad information or just stories, what has worked or not worked. If you could recommend a brand, or what you are using that would be great. Thanks

RE: Towing with Short Bed Pickup

You won't bump into the cab if you use a automatic slider hitch.

Towing with Short Bed Pickup

I currently have a 2007, 2500 short bed Dodge Diesel. I am looking for some help. I know if you are going to use a 5th wheel Hitch it has to be a slider. What I want to know is I am looking at towing a Cyclone Toy hauler that is approx 38' long. Just want to know what you have done to the pickup itself, or even if anyone is towing something that big. Any help or suggestions would be great, Thank you.

RE: Enduramax Toy Hauler

Does anyone no anything about the Enduramax model. I know that it is called Wide Open, I was able to look at the 40 Max, and it seemed like a very nice Rv. Got to Talk to the engineer and the designer at a home show. Just wanting to know if anyone has something to say about it.
